Hill Start Assist (if equipped) (Nissan X-Trail T31)

When stopped on an incline, the Hill Start Assist system automatically maintains the braking force while the driver removes his or her foot from the brake pedal and moves it to the accelerator pedal. This helps prevent the car from rolling backwards. This system is automatically activated in the following cases:

• When the vehicle is completely stopped on an incline by pressing the brake pedal.
• When any forward gear or reverse gear is engaged.

Note: The system can hold the vehicle in place for up to 2 seconds. After 2 seconds, the vehicle will begin to roll backwards and the system will stop functioning completely.

The system does not function in the following cases:

• When the automatic transmission selector lever is set to position N or P.
• When the car is standing on a flat horizontal road.
