Normal movement
1. Press the brake pedal with your right foot.
Attention: At the beginning of the movement, do not switch the automatic transmission selector lever with the gas pedal depressed. This can cause the vehicle to jerk violently and create an emergency.
2. To move forward, move the selector lever to position D, 2, or 1, and if you want to move backward, to position R. Check the correct position of the lever by the indicator on the instrument panel.
Attention: If the automatic transmission selector lever is set to position D, 2.1, L, R, then the car will be ready to move. Traction force will be greater in the initial stage after starting the engine or, for example, when turning on the air conditioner, so in such cases, press the brake pedal harder.
3. Release the parking brake.
4. To start moving, gently release the brake pedal and lightly press the gas pedal.
Getting Started on a Steep Hill
1. Determine the position of the automatic transmission selector lever using the indicator.
Attention: Do not hold the car on a steep slope with the gas pedal, because. transmission may be damaged.
2. With the parking brake applied, slowly release the brake pedal.
3. Slowly press the gas pedal and make sure that the car is ready to move.
4. Release the parking brake and start driving.
