If the selector lever is in position D, operation is as follows.
If there are no vehicles ahead, your vehicle is moving at the speed set by the driver (within 50-100 km/h).
If there is a vehicle in front, your vehicle is moving at a speed not exceeding that set by the driver (within 50-100 km/h), automatically maintaining a distance corresponding to the speed of movement.
If there are no vehicles ahead on the road, your vehicle will slowly accelerate to the set speed and then continue at a constant speed.
Attention:
The adaptive cruise control system has certain limitations, so do not rely on it completely.
Although the system controls the deceleration of the vehicle, it does not automatically stop the vehicle. At a speed of approx. 40 km/h. the system turns off.
The system's ability to decelerate the vehicle is limited, so use it when relatively frequent changes in speed are not required, such as on the highway and on special highways. Also, if the vehicle in front brakes hard or another vehicle wedged between it and your vehicle, the deceleration effect may not be sufficient and a collision may occur. Watch for beeps and the system display.
This system controls the distance based on the signal reflected from the vehicle in front. In the following cases, the system will no longer recognize the vehicle in front, and the safe distance control will not work properly. When the vehicle in front is high off the ground (e.g. truck).
- When the rear of the vehicle in front is heavily soiled.
- When clouds of water droplets or snow rise behind the vehicle in front.
- When the reflective surface of the vehicle in front is covered with tape or broken. When there is very heavy luggage in the back seat or in the luggage compartment of your vehicle.
Although the system is capable of alerting the driver when the laser radar sensor window is dirty, in some cases the alert does not occur. While driving, constantly monitor the traffic situation. After notification of contamination of the sensor window, the system is switched off. Keep the sensor window clean.
