Transfer Case Oil — Draining Oil (Nissan X-Trail T31)

1. Drive the vehicle and warm up the transfer case housing to normal operating temperature.

2. Stop the engine, unscrew the plug (1) from the drain hole, remove the gasket and drain the oil from the transfer case.

Caution: Do not remove the plug (2) from the hole to check the contact patch.

3. Place a new gasket on the drain plug. Screw the plug into the transfer case and tighten to the specified torque.

Caution: Do not reuse the gasket.
