Checking for leaks
Check the areas adjacent to the transfer case (oil seal, drain plug, filler plug, transfer case housing, etc.) for signs of leaks.
Checking the oil level
1. Remove the filler plug (1) with the gasket. Make sure that the oil is filled to the lower edge of the filler hole (A).

Caution: Do not reuse the pad.
Oil drain
1. Take the car for a drive to warm up the transfer case sufficiently.
2. Stop the engine and remove the drain plug (1) with the gasket to drain the oil.

Caution: Do not remove the plug (2) of the hole to check the engagement of the teeth.
3. Before installing the drain plug, install a new gasket, then insert the plug into the transfer case hole and tighten to a torque of 35 N·m.
Caution: Do not reuse the plug gasket.
Oil filling
1. Remove the filler plug (1) with the gasket. Fill with oil until it starts to flow out through the filler hole (the oil level (A) should be at the lower edge of the filler hole).

Caution: Add oil slowly (the refilling time should take approximately three minutes).

2. Leave the car for three minutes, then check the engine oil level again.
3. Install a new gasket on the filler hole, then tighten the plug to a torque of 35 Nm.
Caution: Do not reuse the plug gasket.
