Removal and installation the latch and cylinder of the trunk lid lock (Nissan Maxima A32)

1. Open the trunk lid. Using a special tool, pry the locking buttons off the lower edge of the interior trim panel to provide access to the latch assembly. Remove the plastic decorative latch cover.

2. Trace the latch assembly with a marker.

3. Disconnect the electrical wiring and the actuator rod connecting the latch to the lock cylinder.



4. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the lock latch.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Lock cylinder

1. Open the trunk lid. Using a special tool, pry the locking buttons off the lower edge of the interior trim panel to gain access to the lock latch assembly.

2. Through the technological opening located near the right combination lamp assembly, release the lock actuator rod from its retainer and remove the lock assembly mounting plate. If the vehicle is equipped accordingly, disconnect the electrical wiring from the lock actuator.



3. Rotate the lock at 45° and remove the assembly from the trunk lid.

4. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
