Note. Car doors are heavy, so it would be wise to enlist the help of an assistant.
Removal and installation
1. Remove the interior upholstery panel and the film insulating screen (see Section Removal and installation of panels of an internal upholstery of doors). Disconnect the connectors and push the electrical wiring through the technological holes in the door frame, thereby ensuring the possibility of free dismantling of the latter.
2. Open the door all the way and support it with a jack or wooden blocks. Note: Place a layer of rags between the jack head and the door edge to avoid damage to the paintwork.
3. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the limiter of opening of a door.
4. Circle the hinge strips with a marker, marking their position on the door.
5. Turn out fixing bolts and by means of the assistant accurately remove door assembly from the car. Installation is in the reverse order.
Adjustment
1. The correct position of the door in the body opening is critical to the proper functioning of the door assembly. First of all, you should evaluate the amount of play of the axial fingers of the door hinges. Fully open the door and pull it up and down. If the door play exceeds 1.6 mm, the hinges must be replaced.
2. To correct the position of the door in the vertical direction, loosen the hinge bolts on the car body (access to some bolts is restricted so a specially shaped wrench may be needed). The door can be considered installed correctly when, in the closed position, its upper edge is parallel to the cut of the roof of the car, and the lower one is the threshold line
3. Aligning the door longitudinally is done by releasing the bolts securing the hinge strips on the door frame - again a special key may be needed. Front edge (rear at the back door) the door should be flush with the surface of the wing.
4. Proper operation of the locking mechanism can be achieved by adjusting the position of the striker of the lock in the vertical direction. To estimate the amount of displacement, circle the base plate of the striker with a marker. Loosen the fasteners and make the necessary adjustment - the latch should engage with the central part of the drummer.
5. Finally, adjust the position of the striker in a horizontal direction - the closed door should be flush with the surface of the pillar / panel of the rear wing and properly locked.
