2. Inside the luggage compartment, remove the left side trim panel to provide access to the lug of the filler door lock drive cable. With the door open, pull the cable outward until the plastic tip cover is completely inside the filler compartment. Pull the tip out and remove the casing from the old cable.
3. Fold back the carpet to provide access to the drive cable. Release all intermediate clamps securing the cable to the body panels. The location of the cable for unlocking the luggage compartment lock is described in Section Removal and installation of a latch and the cylinder of the lock of a cover of a luggage compartment. On some models, instead of a cable, an electromagnetic drive for unlocking the lock is provided, however, both mechanisms are connected to the latch in one place.
4. Pull back the carpet near the driver's seat to provide access to the release lever. Give a nut of fastening of a tip of a cable (ov) to the stud, then disconnect the cable (s) from the lever.
5. Tie a piece of string to the end of the cable.
6. Retract the cable inside the luggage compartment, leaving the string threaded into the body panel.
7. Tie a new cable to the string, pull it into the passenger compartment and connect it to the lever. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of the dismantling of the components.
