- Connect the voltmeter to the battery terminals.
- Start the engine; when starting, the voltage should not drop below 8 V (at a temperature of +20°C).
- When the engine speed increases to 2000 rpm, the voltage should be between 14.0 and 15.0 V. If so, the generator and voltage regulator are working. To ensure that the battery is charged while driving, the generator voltage must be higher than the battery voltage.
