Oil filter and oil cooler mounting elements
1 - oil filter; 2 - oil radiator; 3 ~ pressure reducing valve; 4 - sealing ring; 5 — alignment marks.
Removal
Caution: The engine must be completely cool when performing this operation.
- The coolant passes through the oil radiator through two hoses connected to tubes located on the oil radiator body.
- Remove the right mudguard.
- To replace the oil cooler, remove the oil filter and drain the coolant from the engine cooling system.
Caution: If you are not going to remove the oil cooler from the engine, do not drain the coolant or disconnect the coolant hoses from the oil cooler.
- Disconnect the coolant hoses from the oil cooler.
- Remove the long bolt that secures the oil cooler housing to the oil filter adapter housing.
- Remove the oil cooler from the oil filter adapter.
Installation
- Clean the oil filter adapter and the back of the oil cooler from any remaining old gasket material.
- Installing the oil cooler requires a new O-ring to be installed in the oil filter adapter. Install the oil cooler by aligning the cutout on the oil cooler with the tab on the top of the oil pan. Tighten the connecting bolt to the specified torque.
- Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. If they were removed, reconnect the coolant hoses, then install a new oil filter, fill the cooling system with coolant and bleed the air. Start the engine and check for leaks.
