Coolant pump — check (Nissan Terrano 1)

1. With the engine warm and running, pinch the upper radiator hose. If the pump is working properly, you will feel a flow of liquid when you release the hose.

2. If the seal is worn out, a leak will be observed through the pump ventilation hole (photo).



3. If the bearings are worn out, a howling sound comes from the pump, and when the shaft is rocked, longitudinal and radial play is felt (photo).
