After disassembling the engine, all parts should be carefully cleaned and checked. The following chapters describe separately all necessary repairs. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order, taking into account the following points:
1. Assemble parts only in an absolutely clean condition.
2. When installing parts with a small tolerance, clean the tools, workbench and hands from dirt. The smallest foreign bodies can get into the supports. Use only lint-free cloths for cleaning.
3. Apply a clean film of lubricant to the parts before installing them on the engine. Perform this work before installation, as sometimes oil may not get into the supports.
4. Check all recycled parts for damage and wear. Parts in unsatisfactory condition should not be installed. In no case should you save on this, since a new disassembly in case of repeated failure will be clearly more expensive.
5. Purchase all parts from Nissan workshops. When doing so, always indicate the engine and chassis numbers. Parts within one year of production are often changed for improvement, and only on the basis of documents can you find the necessary parts.
6. All tightening torques specified in Specifications at the beginning of the chapter. If the tightening torque is not specified, proceed with caution.
