Attention! See the warnings at the beginning of the Section Depressurizing the supply system.
Examination
1. Remove the fuel pump assembly with the fuel flow sensor from the tank (see Section Removal and installation of the fuel pump).
2. Connect an ohmmeter to the corresponding two terminals of the sensor connector.
3. Lower the assembly float to its lowest position (empty tank) and read the ohmmeter reading. Compare the result with the requirements of the Specifications.
4. Move the float to its highest position (full tank) and repeat the measurement. Again compare the result with the nominal value.
5. If the measurement results are outside the allowable ranges, or the uniformity of the change in readings is violated when the float is moved, the sensor assembly should be replaced.
6. On 1993 and 1994 models. issue remove the fuel pump from the carrier bracket and transfer it to a new assembly (see Section Removal and installation of the fuel pump). On models since 1995, no. transfer the fuel temperature sensor to the new assembly.
7. Install the assembly in its regular place in the gas tank (don't forget to replace the o-ring).
8. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order to the dismantling of the components.
