Note. The gas hummocks and the tempostat drive are adjusted in a similar manner.
Removing
1. Disconnect the throttle cables and (with appropriate vehicle equipment) tempostat from the throttle actuator lever.
2. Loosen the lock and adjusting nuts and release the accelerator cable from its bracket.
3. Under the instrument panel in the driver's foot well, disconnect the accelerator cable from the gas pedal lever, unscrew the bolts securing the cable assembly to the bulkhead of the engine compartment.
4. Release the remaining intermediate torso braces.
5. Retract the cable through the bulkhead into the engine compartment and remove it from the vehicle.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Follow the correct laying of the cable and the reliability of its fastening in all provided clamps.
2. If necessary, seal the cable passage through the bulkhead with sealant to prevent moisture from entering the vehicle interior.
Adjustment
1. Adjust the accelerator cable as follows:
- a) By pulling the cable, take out all its slack;;
- b) Give an adjusting nut before emergence of a free wheeling of the lever of a drive throttle gate;
- c) Loosen the cable adjusting nut by 1.5÷2 turns;
- d) Tighten locknut;
- e) Make sure that the throttle valve opens fully when depressing the gas pedal to the floor and returning it to its original (closed) position when the pedal is released. Make sure there are no signs of jamming;
2. The procedure for adjusting the tempostat cable:
- a) Make sure the throttle cable is adjusted correctly;
- b) Loosen the adjusting nut of the tempostat cable until free play of the damper lever appears;
- c) Give the cable adjusting nut another half turn - a turn;
- d) Tighten the lock nut and check that the tempostat functions properly.
