Injection injector components
1 - Fixing cap; 2 - Insulator; 3 - Injector; 4 - Top sealing ring; 5 - Central sealing ring; 6 - Lower sealing ring; 7 - Fuel line insulator
Attention! See the warnings at the beginning of the Section Depressurizing the supply system.
On models since 1995, no. The front row injection injectors can be serviced without removing the top section of the intake manifold. Dismantling the fuel line is also not a mandatory requirement.
1. Relieve the pressure in the supply system (see Section Depressurizing the supply system).
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to put the equipment into operation!
3. Remove the top section of the inlet pipeline (injection chamber) (see part SOHC engines or DOHC engines Head Engine).
4. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the injection injectors.
5. For maintenance of the injector (ov) unscrew the fixing cap screws (ov) and remove the injector (s) from the fuel line assembly. Estimate a condition of sealing rings of each of the removed injectors, replace defective rings. Before installing the injectors, lubricate the O-rings with liquid machine oil.
Attention! Never use silicone grease to lubricate the rings - this can lead to clogging of the injectors! Plant the injector with light rotational-translational movements (s) into the highway. Wipe and install fixing cap (ki) and tighten the fixing screws to the required torque.
6. To remove the fuel line, disconnect the fuel supply and return lines from it, then unscrew the fixing bolts (two on each side).
7. Slightly rocking the line assembly from side to side, remove it complete with injectors from the lower section of the inlet pipeline.
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following points:
- a) Do not forget to check the condition of the line support insulators, replace defective components;
- b) After seating the insulators in the lower section of the intake manifold, lightly lubricate them with machine oil.
