Attention! Wait until the engine has completely cooled down before proceeding with the procedures! See also the warning at the beginning of the Section Depressurizing the supply system.
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
2. Disconnect the air cleaner outlet from the intake duct or throttle body.
3. Disconnect the throttle position sensor wiring from the throttle body (TPS) (see chapter Engine management systems). Also mark and disconnect all vacuum hoses.
4. Disconnect throttle cables (see Section Removing, installing and adjusting the accelerator cable) and, with the appropriate vehicle equipment, the tempostat.
5. Disconnect the cooling path hoses from the throttle body. Seal open line ends immediately to minimize coolant loss.
6. Turn out bolts of fastening of the case of a throttle. On models 1993 and 1994 issue remove the intake duct. Remove the throttle body with gasket. Scrape off any traces of old gasket material from the mating surfaces of the throttle body and intake manifold plenum.
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Don't forget to replace the seal. In conclusion, adjust the throttle and tempostat cables (see Section Removing, installing and adjusting the accelerator cable). Check the coolant level, make appropriate adjustments if necessary (see chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance).
