2. Remove the hood, air filter and battery.
3. Drain the fluid and oil from the engine and gearbox.
4. Disconnect the radiator hoses, tag and disconnect all vacuum hoses and wires.
5. Disconnect and plug the fuel hoses. Remove the power steering pump and compressor, set them aside without disconnecting them from the lines.
6. Disconnect the throttle cable.
7. Disconnect the heater hoses, remove the pneumatic valve bracket from the engine compartment bulkhead.
8. Raise the front of the vehicle and disconnect the wires from the starter and alternator. On V6 engines, remove the starter.
9. On vehicles with automatic transmission, disconnect the hoses from the coolant at the bottom of the radiator and drain the fluid.
10. Remove the radiator and casing.
11. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the manifold.
12. Remove the clutch slave cylinder from the transmission, disconnect the handbrake cable and move it to the side.
13. On 4x4 vehicles: disconnect the front propeller shaft and axle shafts (Chapter 9), remove the 5 bolts and lower the front differential onto the crossmember, disconnect the transmission from the engine (or unscrew the torque converter bolts) (Chapter 7).
14. On 4x2 vehicles: disconnect the propeller shaft (Chapter 9), perform all work to disconnect the transmission, before unscrewing the bolts (Chapter 7).
15. Attach the hoist to the hooks on the cylinder head and lift the engine.
16. On 4x4 vehicles, remove the bolts securing the rear gearbox support to the frame.
17. On 4x2 vehicles, remove the transmission bracket to body mounting bolts, then remove the bracket to transmission mounting bolts.
18. Loosen the bolts securing the front support bracket to the cylinder block.
20. On 4x4 vehicles, lift the engine and slide it forward to disconnect it from the transmission. On 4x2 vehicles, tilt the engine and remove it from the engine bay (photo).
4.20 Dismantling the engine
21. To disconnect the automatic transmission on 4x2 vehicles:
(The original is available on the web page NISSANBOOK.RU)
- Remove the bottom cover.
- Remove the torque converter bolts. Remove the transmission.
22. To disconnect a manual transmission on 4x2 vehicles:
- Unscrew the clutch housing bolts. Remove the gearbox, making sure that its weight is not supported by the primary shaft.
23. Installation is carried out in reverse order. On 4x4 vehicles, lubricate the clutch housing with sealant.
