Note: The reverse light switch sensor is located on the transmission. The switch sensor cannot be adjusted.
Checking the correct functioning
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Use an ohmmeter to make sure the sensor switch is closed (conductivity takes place) when shifting the gearbox into reverse gear. When shifting the gearbox out of reverse gear, the sensor switch should be open (no conductivity).
3. Replace the faulty sensor switch.
Removal
1. Jack up the car and place it on supports.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the switch sensor from the transmission.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
1. Before installation, lubricate the threads of the sensor switch with a proprietary sealant.
2. Check the quality of the contacts and the reliability of the electrical connector of the sensor switch.
