Checking the oil level in a manual transmission (Nissan Terrano 1)

1. The check is performed on a cold transmission. Wipe dry the crankcase near the filler/inspection plug, which is located on the side of the gearbox (photo)

2. Unscrew the plug and clean. The oil level should reach the bottom edge of the filler hole. If the oil starts to flow out when you unscrew the plug, the level is normal.

3. If necessary, add oil using a bulb or syringe.

4. Replace the plug and tighten to the specified torque. Drive the vehicle and check for leaks.
