The thermostat is mounted in the air filter nozzle and switches the intake air line (photo).
To check, remove the air duct and start the engine. Observe the thermostat with a mirror. On a cold engine, the thermostat divider flap should block the cold air channel (photo). As the engine warms up (in 10-15 minutes) the damper should open slightly. The degree of opening is determined by the ambient air temperature.
