Removal
1. Disconnect the battery from ground.
2. Drain the coolant (see subsection 2.4.5).
3. Disconnect the hose from the thermostat cover.
4. Disconnect the fan thermostat connector on the intake manifold cover (if provided).
5. Disconnect the wiring from the thermostat cover and move it to the side.
6. Loosen the bolts and remove the thermostat cover by gently tapping or loosening it.
7. Remove the thermostat from the housing, paying attention to the position of the ventilation valve.
Examination
1. Hang the thermostat in a vessel with water and a thermometer, as the water heats up the thermostat bypass valve should open. Otherwise replace the thermostat.

2. Check the thermostat valve opening temperature.
3. If the thermostat does not close during cooling, it should be replaced.
Installation
1. Clean the separating surfaces of the cover and thermostat housing.
2. Set the thermostat so that the ventilation (indicated by the arrow) the valve was facing upward.
3. Carefully apply sealant to the split surface of the housing.
4. Install the thermostat cover and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
5. Secure the wiring with a clamp to the thermostat cover, connect the fan thermostat connector.
6. Attach the hose.
7. Fill with coolant.
8. Connect the battery to ground.
