CA engines
Removing the thermostat does not have any special features and is performed in accordance with the drawing.
When installing, apply sealant to the inlet flange as shown in the figure.
SR Engine
1. Drain the coolant.
2. Remove the lower radiator hose.
3. Remove the inlet pipe and take out the thermostat.
4. Install the thermostat so that the vibration valve or air release valve faces upward.
After installing the thermostat, run the engine for a few minutes and check for leaks.
Be careful not to spill coolant into the engine compartment.
CD Engines
Removal and installation are performed in accordance with the drawing. The thermostat must be installed in the housing so that the vibration valve or air release valve faces upward.
Examination
1. Check the thermostat valve for proper closing at normal temperature.
2. Check the thermostat opening temperature and valve stroke.
3. Check if the thermostat closes when the temperature drops 5°C below the opening start temperature.
