Checking the exhaust system (Nissan Terrano 1)

1. The check is performed on a cold engine (at least three hours after stopping). Check the condition of all parts of the exhaust system, starting from the engine and up to the final section of the muffler.

2. Check the pipes and connections for corrosion, mechanical damage, and leaks

exhaust gases. Make sure that the system components are securely fastened and that the brackets are in good condition.

3. At the same time, inspect the condition of the car's underbody, check for corrosion, through holes, and broken seams through which exhaust gases can enter the car's interior. Seal all through holes in the underbody with silicone putty.

4 Knocks and other noises can often be caused by parts of the exhaust system, especially in places where they are attached. Shake the pipes, mufflers, and neutralizer.

If these parts come into contact with suspension parts, replace the fasteners.
