The procedure is an operation of teaching the ECM to supply air at idle speed, in which the engine speed is maintained within the normal range. It must be performed in the following cases:
- when replacing the throttle actuator or ECM;
- when the speed x x. or the ignition timing angle differs from the norm
1. Preparation
Before performing the idle air supply learning procedure, make sure that the following conditions are met. If any of them is not met even for a moment, the learning procedure is canceled.
- battery voltage is more than 12.9 V (at idle speed.);
- engine coolant temperature: 70-100°C;
- pNP switch in "ON" position;
- electrical load switch: in the "OFF" position (air conditioning, headlights, rear window heater).
On vehicles equipped with daytime running lights, set the headlight switch to position 1 to turn on only the small lights
- steering wheel: in neutral position (corresponding to straight linear motion);
- car speed car is standing;
- gearbox, warmed up.
On models with CVT and manual transmission:
Take a 10 minute car ride.
2. Training of air supply at idle speed.
Note:
- It is recommended to keep accurate time using a clock.
- If there is a fault in the accelerator pedal position sensor circuit, switching to diagnostic mode is not possible.
1. Perform the accelerator pedal release position learning procedure. See above.
2. Perform the closed throttle position learning procedure. See above.
3. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
4. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position and wait at least 10 seconds.
5. Make sure the accelerator pedal is fully released, turn the ignition key to the "ON" position and wait 3 seconds.
6. Quickly repeat the following procedure five times within 5 seconds:
- Press the accelerator pedal fully.
- Release the accelerator pedal completely.
7. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and hold it for about 20 seconds until the malfunction indicator "M1" stops flashing and lights up steadily.
8. Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the "M1" malfunction indicator lights up.
9. Start the engine and let it run at idle speed.
10. Wait 20 seconds.
Proceed to point 3
3. Check the idle speed and ignition timing
Rev the engine two or three times and make sure that the idle speed and ignition timing are normal.
Are the test results normal?
Yes - End of check.
No - Go to step 4.
4. Identify the faulty component
Check the following
- Check if the throttle valve is completely closed.
- Check the operation of the PCV valve
- Check for air leaks behind the throttle valve.
Are the test results normal?
Yes - Proceed to step 5.
No - Repair or replace the faulty component.
5. Identify the faulty component
Engine components and their installation condition are questionable. Check and correct the deficiencies. If one of the following conditions occurs after starting the engine, correct the cause of the malfunction and perform the idle air learning procedure again from the beginning.
- the engine stalls;
- unstable operation at idle speed.
