If the A/C compressor is removed, it must be stored in the same position as it was installed on the vehicle. Otherwise, grease may enter the low pressure chamber.
Close all openings after removal to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering the compressor.
Friction surfaces between pulley and clutch must be kept clean. Wipe off any grease with a cloth soaked in solvent.
After working on the compressor, rotate its shaft by hand at least 5 revolutions in both directions to distribute the lubricant inside the compressor. After installing the compressor, leave the vehicle idling with the compressor running for one hour.
