Removal
- With the vehicle on the ground, loosen the central wheel hub mounting nut.
- Raise the front of the car evenly so that the stabilizer is not under tension.
- Remove the wheel.
- Remove the panel in front of the windshield.
- Remove the brake caliper and hang it in a place where it will not interfere with your work.
- Remove the brake hose mounting plate from the shock absorber strut.
- Remove the wheel speed sensor wiring harness from the shock absorber strut.
Caution: Do not pull on the sensor wiring harness.
- Unscrew the nut securing the connecting rod to the shock absorber strut.
- Loosen and remove the nuts and bolts securing the shock absorber strut to the steering knuckle.
- Loosen the nuts on the insulator mounting bracket (arrows), and then remove the shock absorber strut from the vehicle.
Installation
The installation of the shock absorber is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- Use new self-locking nuts and bolts for installation.
- If the same shock absorbers are installed, there is no need to adjust the wheel alignment angles.
- Final tightening of the fastening parts at the bottom of the shock absorber strut (with a rubber bushing) must be carried out on an unloaded vehicle with its wheels on the ground.
