Removal
- Raise the front of the vehicle so that the stabilizer bar is not under tension.
- Remove the wheel.
- Loosen the mounting bolt (arrow) of the wishbone to the front suspension beam.
- Disconnect the wishbone from the steering knuckle.
- Remove the wishbone.
Examination
- Check the control arm and bushings for deformation, cracks and damage. If anything is found, the lever will need to be replaced.
- Check the ball joint boot for cracks or other damage, as well as for grease leaks. If anything is found, the cover needs to be replaced.
- The ball joint must be replaced if the ball pin is worn, swings with difficulty, or has increased axial clearance.
Required values: swing resistance force (A) - 13.5-91.9 N; torque resistance (B) -0.5-3.4 Nm; axial displacement (C) - 0 mm.
Note: The rolling resistance force is measured at the level of the cotter pin hole on the ball stud. Before measuring, rotate the ball pin in the joint housing at least 10 times to ensure it is in the correct position.
Installation
- Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
- Final tightening of the front suspension beam and lower shock absorber strut mounting parts (with a rubber bushing) must be carried out on an unloaded vehicle with its wheels on the ground. Check the wheel alignment angles.
