Handbrake — adjustment (Nissan Terrano 1)

1. Adjustment of the handbrake is necessary due to the cable stretching during operation, or when disassembling the rear brake.

2. Apply the handbrake with maximum force. If adjusted correctly, the wheels will brake after 5-10 clicks. Otherwise, the brake must be adjusted.

3. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it on stands.

4. Unscrew the regulator lock nut (photo).

5. Turn the nut to set the normal cable travel.

6. Tighten the lock nut.

7. Check the freedom of rotation of the wheels with the brake released and lower the vehicle.
