2. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on stands.
3. Remove the crankcase shield and drain the oil.
4. Remove the starter.
5. Remove the clamps securing the bell housing to the engine.
6. Remove the pendulum arm.
7. On 4x2 vehicles, remove the stabilizer bar brackets.
8. On 4x2 vehicles, remove the subframe.
9. On 4x4 vehicles, remove the front differential bracket.
10. Remove the transmission mounts.
11. Disconnect the exhaust pipes from the manifolds.
12. Suspend the power unit on a hoist or install a jack under it.
13. Unscrew the bolts securing the engine mounts to the frame.
14. Raise the engine slightly, being careful.
15. Loosen the bolts and remove the pan.
16. Carefully clean the separating surfaces of the cylinder block and the sump from the remains of the seal. Run and clean the threaded holes in the cylinder block.
17. Apply sealant to the detachable surfaces (photo).

18. Install the gasket on the pan, install the pan and tighten the bolts evenly in a cross pattern to the specified torque (photo).
