2. Remove the flywheel or torque converter drive plate.
3. Pry up and carefully remove the seal (photo).

4. Lubricate the new seal with molybdenum grease.
5. Place the oil seal on the crankshaft and carefully press it in using a soft-faced hammer.
6. When the surface of the seal is flush with the holder, carefully press the seal until it stops by striking the brass rod (photo).

7. The remaining operations are performed in reverse order.
