Vehicles with floor selector
1. Move the selector from position P to "1", while the actuation of the latch in all intermediate positions should be felt. If operation is not felt, or the pointer does not match the designations, then the thrust must be adjusted.
2. Move the selector to position P.
3. Loosen locknuts (photo).

Rear wheel drive vehicles
4. Tighten locknut X (photo) against the stop in the selector bracket by pressing the lever in the direction of position R (don't press the button).
5. Loosen locknut X 1/2-1/4 turn and tighten to specified torque.

4WD vehicles since 1987
6. Pushing the lever towards position R (don't press the button), tighten the turnbuckle until the turnbuckle is aligned with the strand (photo).

7. Loosen the turnbuckle 1 turn and tighten the lock nuts to the specified torque.
8. Move the selector from position P to "1" and make sure the selector moves smoothly.
Vehicles with steering column selector
9. Move the selector from position P to "1", while the actuation of the latch in all intermediate positions should be felt. If the operation is not felt, or the pointer does not match the sector designations, then the thrust must be adjusted.
10. Move the selector to position P.
11. Loosen locknuts (photo).
2.11 Automatic transmission rod locknuts on cars 1987-88 with steering column selector
12. Tighten locknut A (photo) against the stop in the bracket by pressing the lever in the direction of position R (don't press the button).

13. Loosen locknut A 2 turns and tighten nut B to the specified torque.
14. Move the selector from position P to "1" and make sure the selector moves smoothly.
