Kick-down switch — adjustment (Nissan Terrano 1)

1. The switch is designed to supply power to the electromagnetic downshift drive when the throttle pedal is pressed all the way. If the switch is not adjusted, downshifting occurs with the throttle valve partially open.

2. Turn on the ignition and press the throttle pedal all the way down - you should hear a characteristic click.

3. If there is no click, then release the lock nut (the switch is mounted above the pedal), press the pedal all the way down and move the switch until it clicks (when resting on a pin).



4. Tighten the lock nut and check the adjustment.

5. If the switch is adjusted, but the gear does not shift to a lower gear, check the switch contacts for closure and the presence of voltage on it.

6. If voltage is present and the contacts close, contact a car service center to check the switch circuit and electromagnetic drive.
