Warning! The power transistor is a fragile and quite expensive component. Failure to follow the procedures below may result in the PCM failing. Remember that all PCM-controlled components are covered by additional federal warranty obligations - consult your vehicle manufacturer's representative office before attempting to service or replace components yourself.
Examination
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Warning! If the car stereo system is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!
2. Disconnect the wiring from the power transistor.

3. Connect the positive probe of the ohmmeter to terminal A of the connector, the negative probe to terminal B. The device should register the presence of conductivity. Change the polarity of the ohmmeter connection - this time the reading should be equal to infinity.
Replacement
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Warning! If the car stereo system is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!
2. Disconnect the wiring from the power transistor.
3. Unscrew the bolt securing the transistor with the support bracket to the cylinder head.
4. Unscrew the two bolts securing the support carburetor. Install the new transistor on the bracket.
5. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of dismantling the components.
