Attention! The power transistor is one of the fragile and rather expensive components. Violation of the procedure suggested below may lead to failure of the PCM. Please note that all PCM-controlled components are subject to additional federal warranties - before attempting to service or replace components yourself, check with the representative office of the vehicle manufacturer.
Examination
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
2. Disconnect the wiring from the power transistor.
3. Connect the positive probe of the ohmmeter to terminal A of the connector, the negative probe to terminal B. The device should register the presence of conductivity. Reverse the polarity of the ohmmeter connection - this time the reading should be infinity.
Replacement
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
2. Disconnect the wiring from the power transistor.
3. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the transistor with a basic arm to a head of cylinders.
4. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the basic carburettor. Install a new transistor on the bracket.
5. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order to the dismantling of the components.
