Checking the power steering fluid level (Nissan Terrano 1)

1. The power steering fluid level must be checked and restored periodically.

2. The feed tank is mounted on the power steering pump and is located at the front of the engine compartment. On V6 engines, the tank is located behind the battery.

3. When checking the level, the wheels should be in a straight-ahead position, the engine should be stopped. The power steering fluid and the engine should be cold.

4. Wipe the tank.

5. Unscrew the cap of the tank with a built-in dipstick (photo).

6. Wipe the dipstick and reinsert it into the reservoir. Remove the dipstick and check the fluid level, which should be between the marks on the dipstick.

7. If necessary, add fluid to the normal level

8. If frequent topping up of fluid is required, there is a leak in the hydraulic drive and the condition of all tubes and connections should be checked.
