Marks for measuring the fluid level in the hydraulic steering
1. Range "NOT" (for heated liquid)
2. Range "COLD" (for cold liquid)
The power steering reservoir is located on the right side of the engine compartment, on the front side of the front suspension strut cap.
1. To check the fluid level, park the vehicle on level ground. The wheels must be in the straight ahead position. The engine must be stopped. Please note that the steering wheel must not turn from the moment the engine is stopped, otherwise the test will give an incorrect result.
2. The liquid level is checked with a dipstick, which is mounted in the tank neck plug. Wipe the neck and the surface around it, then turn out the plug and check the fluid level on the dipstick. If the liquid temperature is between 50°and 80°C (the car was driven in the normal way), then the level should be measured in the range of the dipstick marked "HOT". At liquid temperature from 0°to 30°С (after the trip, a sufficiently long time has passed and the engine has had time to cool down) the level should be measured in the range "COLD".
3. If necessary, fill the tank up to the mark "MAX", adding only the recommended brand of fluid. Take measures to prevent dirt particles or other foreign matter from entering the hydraulic system, and fluid must not be overfilled above the upper mark. After the level is restored, tighten the cap. Please note that if frequent topping up of fluid is required, then there is a leak in the hydraulic drive, which must be immediately eliminated.
