Front brake pads
1. Block the rear wheels, apply the handbrake, then raise the vehicle and place it on stands. Remove the front wheels.
2. You can quickly check the residual thickness of the lining material on the pads through the window in the front brake caliper. For a more detailed inspection, the brake pads can be removed and cleaned. After removing the pads, you can check the condition of the brake cylinders of the caliper and the brake disc (see subsection 11.7 and subsection 11.5).
3. If the remaining thickness of at least one lining meets or exceeds the standard value, then replace all four brake pads as a set.
Rear brake pads
1. Block the front wheels, raise the rear of the vehicle and place it on stands. Remove rear wheels.
2. You can quickly check the residual thickness of the lining material on the pads through the window in the front brake caliper. For a more detailed inspection, the brake pads can be removed and cleaned. After removing the pads, you can check the condition of the brake cylinders of the caliper and the brake disc (see subsection 11.8 and subsection 11.5).
3. If the remaining thickness of at least one lining meets or exceeds the standard value, then replace all four brake pads as a set.
