1. Block the front wheels, raise the rear of the vehicle and place it on stands. Remove rear wheels.
2. To check the wear of the rear brake pads without removing the drum, remove the plugs of the inspection holes in the brake shields. Examine the front pads with a mirror, highlighting the flashlight. Make sure that the thickness of the pads is not lower than normal, for which bring a bar to the pad with a diameter equal to the maximum thickness of the pad (see subsection 2.1).
3. If the remaining thickness of at least one lining meets or exceeds the standard value, then replace all four brake pads as a set.
4. If it is difficult to check the thickness of the brake linings in this way, or if a more detailed check is required, then you can remove the brake drums and at the same time check their condition (see subsection 11.6).
