"Intelligent" electrical installation unit
1 - air conditioner relay; 2 — fuel pump relay; 3 — ignition system relay; 4 — cooling system fan relay No. 2; 5 — cooling system fan relay No. 3; 6 — cooling system fan relay No. 1; 7 — low beam headlight relay; 8 — high beam headlight relay; 9 — front fog light relay; 10 — starter relay; 11 — throttle control motor relay; 12 — ECM relay.
Test with automatic activation
- In the automatic activation test mode, the IPDM E/R electrical installation unit sends control signals to check the operation of the following systems:
♦ Heated rear window.
♦ Front windshield wiper.
♦ Side and parking light lamps.
♦ Front fog lights.
♦ Headlights (high and low beam).
♦ Air conditioning compressor (electromagnetic clutch).
♦ Cooling system fan.
- the "intelligent" electrical installation unit in the engine compartment (IPDM E/R) starts the test mode with automatic activation after receiving the door switch signal from the HSR body control module, Therefore, if the test with automatic activation is started successfully, the electrical circuit between the IPDM E/R unit and the HSR works normally (there is no break in the chain).
- If any of the IPDM E/R controlled systems is not working, the possible cause can be easily diagnosed using an automatic activation test.
Checking the work
- Close the hood and right front door, then lift the front wiper arms off the windshield to prevent damage to the glass when the wiper operates.
- When performing the automatic activation test with the hood open, wet the windshield with water.
- Turn off the ignition.
- Turn on the ignition, wait 20 seconds, open and close the left front door 10 times. Then turn off the ignition.
- Turn the ignition on again within 10 seconds after turning the ignition off.
- When the auto-activation test mode is started, the beep should sound once.
- After the automatic activation test is turned on, the system activation cycle listed in the table will start and will be repeated three times.
Caution: On vehicles equipped with xenon headlights, a solenoid is switched on and off to switch the headlights between high and low beam. The headlights will not light up.
Troubleshooting with a test
