- Turn off the ignition.
- Open the hood.
- To remove the battery, you need to start by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery and disconnecting the positive cable from the battery (arrows).
Caution: Always disconnect the negative wire first and connect it last, as otherwise the battery may be short-circuited by the tools that are used when loosening the wire clips on the battery.
Caution: After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cables, the vehicle's engine may run intermittently as the control computer needs some time to adaptively learn. To return the engine to smooth operation, it may be necessary to drive a distance of 15-20 km.
- Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals using a wrench. Sometimes you may need special pliers to remove the wires, especially in cases where the nut is damaged by corrosion.
- Remove the battery from the engine compartment. Be careful - it's quite heavy. It should be noted that there are special straps and handles for carrying batteries available on the market. They are not very expensive and will make the job of removing and moving the battery easier.
- If necessary, to gain access to other parts, unscrew the pan mounting bolts and remove the pan.
