Removal
- Remove the driveshaft from the final drive differential.
- Apply a paint mark (1) to the end of the drive gear that matches the mark B (3) located on the main gear connecting flange (2).

- A mark on the main gear coupling flange indicates the position of maximum vertical runout.
- Loosen and remove the large nut in the center of the pinion flange. It is recommended to use a special device for this.

- Using a puller, remove the flange from the crankcase.

- Using a side bearing outer race puller, remove the front oil seal.

- Clean and inspect sealing surfaces. Replace the flange if the sealing surface is worn.
Installation
- Prepare the new seal by lubricating its lip and lubricating the small spring to hold it in place during installation. Install the oil seal using suitable tools (arrows). Be careful not to damage it during installation.

- Align the timing mark on the drive gear with the B mark on the coupling flange, and then install the coupling flange.
- Apply transmission oil or grease to the threaded portion of the pinion gear and to the seating surface of the new coupling flange nut.
- Using a special wrench, tighten the new connecting flange nut to a torque of 128.5-152 Nm.
- Install the driveshaft. Check the final drive fluid level and top up if necessary.
