5. Check the stroke of the tappet by pressing on it (photo). If the stroke exceeds 1 mm, then air has entered the hydraulic tappet.

6. If the stroke exceeds the norm, then install all the removed valve timing parts and start the engine.
7. Increase the speed to 1000 rpm, stop the engine after 10 minutes.
8. Remove the housing with the tappets and check the stroke again. If there is still air in the tappet, replace the tappets.
