Exhaust system — general information (Nissan Terrano 1)

The exhaust system consists of 4 sections, a downpipe, a catalytic converter, an intermediate pipe with a resonator and an end section with a muffler

The entire length of the exhaust pipes is suspended on rubber supports, the pipes are connected by flanges. It is recommended to change the neutralizer every 48,000 km. When filling the car with leaded gasoline, the neutralizer fails.

To maintain the exhaust system in good condition, periodically check the condition of the fastening parts, the presence of broken seams, traces of burnout and corrosion, as well as other defects that cause exhaust gases to escape into the passenger compartment. Make sure that the necessary gaps remain between the pipes and the bottom.
