On 4-cylinder engines
1. Lubricate the oil seal, place it on the crankshaft and carefully press it in with a mandrel or light blows on a soft spacer.
On V6 engines
2. Mark the depth of the old oil seal and remove the oil seal from the holder (photo).

3. Clean the seal and lubricate the outer edge. Press the seal in with a mandrel or through two wooden blocks, clamping the seal between the blocks in a vice. You can also press it in with hammer blows through a block (photo). The seal should fit into the holder without distortions.

4. Lubricate the working edges of the seal and install the holder on a new gasket, lubricating the area under the holder with sealant (photo). Tighten the bolts.
