Note. The following procedures require a special coil spring compression tool.
Removing
Front Suspension Coil Spring Components
1 - bolts; 2 - cover; 3 - nut; 4 - compression stroke limiter; 5 - insulator; 6 - spring
1. Jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on jack stands under the chassis frame.
2. Give bolts of fastening of a cover of the limiter of a course of compression, remove a cover.
3. Turn away a nut of fastening of a limiter of a course of compression and leave the limiter supported in the lower saddle of a spring.
4. Using the special tool, compress the coil spring until it can be removed.
5. Remove the spring, compression stroke limiter, and upper rubber insulator from the vehicle.
6. Inspect the spring for cracks, signs of deformation and weakening of the force being developed. If possible, compare the length of the spring with the new one.
7. Check the compression stroke stop for damage and signs of material ageing.
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order.
Make sure that the upper seat of the spring is located in the correct way, the compression stroke stop is inside the spring.
