Power transistor (built into distributor) — check (Nissan Serena C24)

If the signal shape from the transistor measured by the oscilloscope is abnormal, use an analog tester to check the resistance between the corresponding contacts of the transistor by changing the polarity of the probes.

Tested contacts and resistance (at room temperature):

• Contacts 8 (+), 7 (-): not O or infinity Σ
• Contacts 8 (-), 7 (+): not O or infinity Σ
• Contacts 5 (+), 8 (-): not O or infinity Σ

• Contacts 5 (-), 8 (+): infinity Σ
• Contacts 7 (+), 5 (-): infinity Σ
• Contacts 7 (-), 5 (+): O or not infinity Σ

When measured with a digital tester, the resistance values will differ from those indicated.

Check if there is power supply from the distributor (rotor and distributor cap).

If the resistance values are different from the norm, replace the distributor.
