Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
2. Jack up the car and put it on stands.
3. Remove the crankcase protection if the vehicle is equipped accordingly.
4. Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter (see chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance).
5. Disconnect the Y-shaped front pipe of the exhaust system from the section following it (see chapter Power and exhaust systems).
6. Separate the transmission dome cover from the machine.
7. Hang the engine from above using a winch or beam.
Attention! Take care of the reliability of fixing the unit with a winch.
8. Unbolt the front and rear supports of the power unit from the cross beam (see Section Checking the condition and replacing the suspension bearings of the power unit).
9. Remove the beam passing under the oil pan.
10. Acting in the reverse order shown in the illustration, turn out the bolts securing the pallet.
11. Separate the pallet from the block of the engine. If necessary, tap it on the perimeter with a soft-faced hammer - in no case try to pry "ingrained" pallet lever under the mating surface.
12. Clean the mating surfaces from traces of the old gasket material and sealant, then wipe them with a rag soaked in acetone.
Installation
1. Make sure that the threaded holes in the engine block are absolutely clean - if necessary, drive them with a tap of a suitable size.
2. Lubricate the ends of the oil seals with RTV sealant and insert them into the oil pump assembly and rear casing.
3. Apply a continuous pad of RTV sealant with a diameter to the inside sealing surface of the sump.
Attention! The installation of the pallet must be carried out within the next five minutes after applying the sealant!
4. Press the pallet against the mating surface of the engine block, screw in the fixing bolts and, moving in a strictly defined order, evenly tighten them in four stages with the required force.
5. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order to the dismantling of the components.
6. Let the sealant dry for about 30 minutes, then install a new oil filter and fill the unit with fresh engine oil. Start the engine and check the engine oil pressure. Make sure there are no leaks.
