Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Warning! If the car stereo system is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!
2. Jack up the car and place it on supports.
3. If the vehicle is equipped accordingly, remove the crankcase guard.
4. Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter (see Chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance).
5. Disconnect the Y-shaped exhaust pipe from the section following it (see Chapter Power and exhaust systems).

6. Separate the transmission dome cover from the unit.
7. Suspend the engine from above using a winch or beam.
(The article is located on the website: «NissanBook.ru»)
Attention! Make sure that the unit is securely fixed with the winch.
8. Unbolt the front and rear powertrain mounts from the crossmember (see section Checking the condition and replacing the powertrain suspension supports).
9. Remove the beam running under the oil pan.

10. Proceeding in the reverse order to that shown in the illustration, unscrew the pan mounting bolts.
11. Separate the pan from the engine block. If necessary, tap it along the perimeter with a soft-faced hammer - do not try to pry the "stuck" pan with a lever under the mating surface.
12. Clean the mating surfaces from traces of the old gasket material and sealant, then wipe them with a rag soaked in acetone.
Installation
1. Make sure that the threaded holes in the engine block are absolutely clean - if necessary, run them through with a tap of the appropriate size.
2. Lubricate the ends of the oil seals with RTV sealant and insert the latter into the oil pump assembly and rear housing.
3. Apply a continuous RTV sealant pad with a diameter of on the inner sealing surface of the pallet.
Attention! The installation of the tray must be carried out within the next five minutes after applying the sealant!

4. Press the pan against the mating surface of the engine block, screw in the mounting bolts and, moving in a strictly defined order, tighten them evenly in four stages with the required force.
5. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of dismantling the components.
6. Allow the sealant to dry for about 30 minutes, then install a new oil filter and fill the unit with fresh engine oil. Start the engine and check the engine oil pressure. Make sure there are no leaks.
