2. Disconnect the wires from the spark plugs and move them to the side along with the brackets.
3. Disconnect the vacuum booster hose.
4. Unscrew the cover bolts (photo).
5. Remove the lid by carefully opening the seal.
6. Clean the cover from any remaining seals.

4.4 Cylinder head cover
4.9 Tightening procedure for the cylinder head cover on the KS4 engine: at stage 1, tighten bolts 1 and 2 to 3 N·m, then tighten all bolts to 6.5-9 N·m in the order shown
7. Apply sealant to the separating surfaces of the cover and cylinder head, "circling" the bolts with sealant from the inside.
8. Install the gasket, cover and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. Tighten the nuts evenly in three to four steps to the specified torque (photo).
9. The remaining procedures are performed in reverse order.
