The engine is equipped with a circulation cooling system. A vane water pump is used to circulate the coolant. The cooling system works with a separate expansion tank. A tubular radiator and a wax thermostat are used. The radiator is normally mounted on the engine.
The fan shroud houses one or two fans and is turned on and off by an electrical thermal switch on the bottom of the heatsink. The water pump is driven by the crankshaft via a belt.
The thermostat is located in the water pipe. At low coolant temperatures, the thermostat stays closed and the coolant can bypass the radiator so it can warm up faster from the engine.
