Attention.
- Before starting work, turn off the ignition, disconnect both terminals of the battery and wait at least three minutes
- Before disconnecting the air bag control unit connectors, make sure that the air bag module and front seat belt pretensioner wire connectors are disconnected to prevent them from being deployed by static electricity.
- Do not use pneumatic or electric driven intrumes.
Removal
1. Disconnect the connectors of all airbag modules and pretensioners.
2. Remove the center console assembly.
3. Disconnect the airbag control unit connectors.
4. Loosen the mounting bolts and ground bolt, and remove the airbag control unit.
Attention.
- If the airbag control unit has been dropped or impacted, it must be replaced with a new one.
- Do not reuse the control unit mounting nuts, always replace them with new ones.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Attention.
- Be careful not to damage the wires during installation.
- If the airbag malfunction indicator on the instrument panel lights up, it is necessary to erase the malfunction codes from the memory of the self-diagnosis system using the CONSULT-III device. If the indicator still lights up, perform the self-diagnosis procedure of the system to identify the malfunction.
