Removal the radiator (Nissan Qashqai J10)

Attention.

Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Hot coolant escaping from the radiator under high pressure can cause serious burns.

Wrap the cap with a thick cloth. First, turn the plug a quarter turn to relieve the pressure in the system. Carefully remove the cap, unscrewing it completely.

Versions with petrol engines

1. Drain the coolant from the radiator.

Attention.

This step is performed on a cold engine.

Do not allow coolant to come into contact with the accessory drive belt.

2. Remove the air intake duct.

3. Disconnect the expansion tank hose from the upper radiator hose.

4. Disconnect the connector from the resistor and fan motor and move the wires to the side.

5. Remove the cooling system fan assembly.

Caution: Be careful not to damage the radiator core.

6. Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses.

7. Loosen the tank bracket mounting bolts.

8. Remove the upper mounting bracket.

9. Lift the air conditioning condenser to disconnect it from the radiator, then remove the radiator.

Caution: Be careful not to damage or scratch the radiator and the air conditioning condenser core.

Version with diesel engine K9K

1. Remove the engine cover.

2. Remove the air filter housing with the air intake duct.

3. Remove the expansion tank hose bracket bolt from the upper radiator mounting bracket (on the right side).

4. Remove the radiator fan motor wiring.

5. Remove the engine protective pan.

6. Drain the coolant from the engine.

Caution: Drain the coolant only after the engine has cooled down.

7. Disconnect the upper radiator hose, expansion tank hose and mounting bracket.

8. Disconnect the charge air cooler from the radiator.

9. Remove the radiator with the fan assembly.

Note: Remove the radiator with the condenser assembly.

Caution: Be careful not to damage or scratch the radiator core when removing it.

Diesel version M9R

1. Remove the engine protective pan.

2. Drain the coolant from the radiator.

Caution: Drain the coolant only after the engine has cooled down.

3. Remove the air intake duct.

4. Remove the front grille and air intake.

5. Remove the air intake hose, intake manifold and bracket.

6. Loosen the screws securing the expansion tank pipe on the right side of the radiator.

7. Remove the mounting bracket and upper elastic element.

8. Disconnect the wire connector from the resistor and fan motor and move the wires aside.

9. Disconnect the upper radiator hose.

10. Remove the radiator fan assembly.
